The De Zalze Estate lifestyle
Nestled in the heart of a beautiful valley on the outskirts of Stellenbosch, lies the prestigious De Zalze Winelands Golf Estate, housing some of the finest properties in estate living in South Africa.
The name “De Zalze” originates from the early wine farmers who produced wines on three adjoining farms, namely Kleine Zalze, Groote Zalze and De Vleie, in the region. The beauty and splendour of Stellenbosch, with its surrounding winelands, is characterised by extensive vineyards, majestic mountain ranges and unique fynbos vegetation. All of the aforementioned has been uniquely captured in the Estate and, as such, offers residents a rich combination of scenic beauty, architectural integrity, and sporting, outdoor and cultural advantages.
The De Zalze Winelands Golf Estate was designed to capture the essence and charm of the region’s urban heritage and other historic villages of the wine-producing areas of Western Europe. The spirit and allure of these regions, with winding lanes, gurgling fountains and indigenous gardens, have been recreated in the Estate to give birth to a special sense of place.
The layout of the Estate is unique to the extent that the properties have been grouped into little villages and are not spread out along the fairways. Each village has its own identity and offers something unique and special to its residents. Some villages offer spectacular views of surrounding vineyards and mountains, whilst others are nestled under historic oak trees alongside the beautiful Blaauwklippen River, which winds its way through the Estate.
